Adventures in the rice field…

Hi Everybody, Our Grand parents live in Saitama which is about 40km north of Tokyo. There are Rice fields near their house and they are so green… There is also some rice growing in a container in the garden of Gigi’s House too. I can see lots of small tadpoles in the rice field. I want to catch some tad poles to swim in the rice that is growing at home too, but they mover very fast and we could not catch them… don’t worry, we will keep trying…

More news soon from Mitchell & Emily in Japan

So where are we really…

Hi Everybody, Mitchell here, Emily and I thought we would show everyone on the map exactly where we are… we are waaaaaaay up kind of up on the top part of the world. If you go to Adelaide and then go 8,155 km north you will reach Japan… Here is a picture on the world map so you know where we are…(remember, click on the photo to get a bigger view)

More news soon.
Bye for now, from Mitchell & Emily in Japan…

Our Local Library in Sugito…

Hi Everybody, Mitchell & Emily here again…

Because there is no internet connection at my Gigi & Baaba’s place, we go to the local library here in Sugito to use their Free Internet Connection. The libraries in Japan look just like the ones in Melbourne, lots of books and you still have to be very very quiet.

Here is a picture of me on the laptop talking on the Webcam to my Dad on Skype…

Japan is almost on the same time as Melbourne, but Japan is 1 hour behind. So if it is 3:00pm in Melbourne, it means it is only 2:00pm in Tokyo. It is nice and sunny weather here as it is almost Summer. We are about 8,155 km from Melbourne. We miss you all, but look forward to seeing you all again soon…

P.S – Emily stayed at home playing with Grandma on this trip to the Library, so she missed out on being in the photo. But she will come on the next trip to the library…

More photos soon…

June 3rd – Clams on the beach !

On 3rd June, GiGi (our Grand Dad) Baaba (our Grand Mother) and Mum and Emily and Me, all went went to Funabashi Sanbanze Coastal Park in Chiba. We searched for clams on the beach.

We were all digging in the sand for the clams. Emily and Me found some, but GiGi got most of them… maybe he knew where to dig.

After we got home, Baaba soaked the clams in salty water overnight and then she put them into
the miso soup that we had the next morning which was VERY nice…

It was great fun to go to the beach with my Grandparents and I hope we can all go again one day…

Bye for now – Oh and remember – If you want to see a larger photo, you can click on any of our photos to enlarge them too!

More adventures soon.

Hi Everybody,

At home on Anzac Day Weekend…

My Friend Kyle came over…YAY !!!

Today was very cool because my friend Kyle came over to my house after school to play with me. He stayed for a couple of hours and we played on the Wii and we played with the rats and the chicken and then we found a CAT in the garden… We don;t know who it belonged to, but we gave it a drink of water and some Tuna to eat… It looked VERY hungry. It was a great day and I look forward to Kyle coming over to my house again one day.
